THE ORIGIN OF VAIZADI

Vaizadi combines Vai, a people who created one of the world's few fully indigenous writing systems, with zadi, from Nzadi, the Kikongo word for "river."
The name joins a legacy of invention with a river that has always carried goods, people and ideas - a reflection of what we do today.
THE VAI SCRIPT
A Writing System Born From Imagination.
In the 1830s, a Vai man is credited with creating a writing system from notmng. nwas not adapted mrom arable or Laun letters - it was invented, and it became one of the very few fully indigenous writing systems in the world.
The Vai script is a moraic syllabary. Each character represents one mora, the basic timing unit of the spoken language.
Its structure is precise and geometric, a testament to a designer's mind.
